Having enjoying your steamship cruise around Picton Harbour you may wish to explore other Picton activities in this humming little town.
Check out the Edwin Fox Maritime Museum, the worlds 9th oldest ship on permanent display. Learn all about her fascinating round the world adventures and her checkered history from troop carrier to immigrant ship, even convict transporter. Just around the corner is Ecoworld Aquarium, home to many different fish species from the Marlborough Sounds, as well as Little Blue Penguins, Tuatara, Giant Weta, Lizards, Turtles and Kakariki. Get up close with the "monster of the deep" - a five metre long Giant Squid.
Saunter along the foreshore with its iconic palms and enjoy the beautiful views of the Marlborough Sounds and Picton's marina. There are some wonderful walks locally, including a short walk to Bob's Bay, or a more challenging bush hike up the Tirohanga - definitely worth the effort with a birdeye view of Picton from the summit. Descend down through Essons Valley and check out the pottery gallery, where Sara may offer you a well earned cup of tea.
Alternatively you may wish to browse the many gift shops and galleries along Picton's High Street, like Evolve, Latitude 41, brilliant for both locals and tourists alike for those special treats. For those of you that like quilting, a visit to the Dog Box would be enjoyable.

Le Café, over looking the foreshore has the best views,and wonderful fresh food, Oxleys on the Quay is on the corner of Wellington Street is another fine option, Gustos in the High Street is intimate and bustling, and if you wish to explore Waikawa Marina, Spinnaker Restaurant overlooks this fine marina and offers a good menu.
